Eco-friendly castor fiber fabric

From the cultivation of castor beans, an innovative bio-based yarn is obtained, ecological and very high-performance especially for sportswear, produced by an Italian company, EVO® by Fulgar. The cultivation of castor beans is sustainable both from an environmental and human point of view as it occurs in arid areas that are not intended for agriculture and because the product obtained is not intended for the agri-food sector as in the case of other biopolymers (for example corn). The yarn is defined as bio-based as it is made from biopolymers made up of 100% castor beans rather than synthetic polymers derived from petroleum. Castor fiber is very light and breathable, with this fiber in fact you can reduce the weight of the fabric by 25% compared to a polyester fabric while maintaining the same covering power and it dries very quickly, in fact it takes half the time compared to a nylon fabric. It is also very elastic thus giving comfort to the garments, it is bacteriostatic and therefore allows the elimination of bad odors and guarantees thermal insulation. For all these properties it has proven to be an optimal material for the production of sportswear and underwear.
