VeganOK is the first and only ethical and environmental certification for Vegan products born in Italy. It is the most widespread standard in the world with tens of thousands of certified products in Italy and abroad. The certification is issued for various sectors such as: cosmetics, detergents, perfumes, clothing, food, furniture, objects.
The company that decides to self-certify a product according to the VEGANOK standard operates in accordance with the provisions of the European regulation UNI EN ISO 14021.
VEGANOK is the most widespread standard in Italy that guarantees consumers precise ethical and environmental characteristics. In particular, it guarantees that the individual product that uses the VEGANOK trademark (Self-declared environmental assertion, 3.1.16) which must be present on the label of each registered product, complies with the VEGANOK specification (Explanatory declaration, 3.1.7).
To obtain the VeganOK certification:
- the product must not contain any substance or part of animal origin or directly and intentionally involve the killing, detention or exploitation of animals. In particular, for the use of all additives whose origin could be either animal, vegetable, mineral or synthetic, it is mandatory to obtain suitable documentation proving their non-animal origin;
-for no substance or material used in the production of any products of the company licensed to use the VEGANOK trademark, including those on which the VEGANOK trademark will not be used, tests or procedures must not have been carried out or commissioned that have involved the direct exploitation of animals and no testing or control procedure on the finished product must have directly involved the exploitation of animals at any stage.
The VeganOk certification logo must be shown on the product label.
