BY FOUTAS was born in 2018 from the desire to promote Tunisian craftsmanship through an elegant, colorful and modern product: La Fouta.
Traditional towel of Tunisian hammams for several centuries, the fouta is today considered a real alternative to the bath or beach towel. Thin, dries very quickly and takes up little space. Very elegant and colourful, it also decorates the home as a bedspread, tablecloth or blanket.
The foutas from the BY FOUTAS company are woven from 100% cotton by artisans who passionately perpetuate the legacy and know-how of their families. The fringes are hand-knotted by local artisans who work from home and support their families.
Concerned about their impact, the foutas are designed with 100% recycled cotton yarns, without chemical additives and GRS and OEKO-TEX certified, sourced from the production surpluses of international ready-to-wear brands. Low-polluting modes of transport such as boats are favored and paper packaging comes from sustainably managed forests.
Great importance is attributed to all these elements which give the production a responsible and socially committed character.
