Used materials:

  • ECO-LEATHER without PVC. There are different types of eco-leather. The scientific terms are PU (Polyurethanes) and PVC (polyvinyl chloride). PVC is considered the most dangerous plastic material from an environmental point of view, which is why Miomojo bags are always 100% PVC-free! All PU (Polyurethanes) used are certified and do not contain PVC, azo dyes, formaldehyde and heavy metals, all substances harmful to both the environment and humans. Furthermore, being aware that synthetic alternatives to animal leather are not without negative environmental consequences, Miomojo searches for innovative materials, such as leather recycled from pineapple, mushrooms, bananas, apples and oranges, even if they are niche materials, to continue the their path towards sustainability for us, animals and our planet.
  • Recycled polyester - very ethi-cool! Many of Miomojo accessories are made from R-PET plastic, polyester recycled from plastic bottles. This material is modern, durable and fits perfectly into the conscious lifestyle. The production of recycled polyester requires less energy than that of virgin yarn. Compared to the latter, recycled polyester offers a 75% reduction in carbon footprint and 90% reduction in water use. By increasingly using this recycled fibre, we reduce our dependence on oil as a raw material and help prevent plastic from ending up in landfills or the sea. Miomojo bags are lined with 100% recycled polyester.
  • Vegetable fibres: hemp and linen are used for several Miomojo lines. In addition to being aesthetically beautiful fabrics, they are very resistant, breathable fibers with antibacterial properties, and they are both biodegradable.
  • If present, the metal details are nickefree .

SUSTAINABLE AND RESPECTFUL PRODUCTION: Miomojo collections are produced in carefully selected factories in Asia , cooperating with suppliers who share the same vision and with whom we build stable and long-lasting relationships. Throughout the supply chain there are safe and fair working conditions, checking directly through the Miomojo headquarters in Hong Kong .

They would have liked to have a completely European supply chain, but the costs, and consequently the sales prices of the product, would have been very high. Miomojo is not a company that offers luxury products and does not want to be. They think that designer, beautiful and cruelty-free products should be at affordable prices, in order to contribute to a significant change in lifestyle for as many people as possible and therefore have a positive impact on the well-being of animals and our planet.

Associations supported by Miomojo:

  • Animals Asia, which works tirelessly to end the bear bile industry, which condemns over 10,000 bears in China and 1,200 in Vietnam to torture farms. Animals Asia is also fighting to stop the trade in dogs and cats for food in China and Vietnam, and against the violent practices perpetrated against animals within Asian zoos and safari parks. • in Italy, they supportessereanimali , a non-profit association that promotes change, aimed at overcoming all forms of exploitation of the animals that share the planet with us. Every year more than 60 million mink, foxes, rabbits, raccoons and seals are killed, forced for their entire lives in farm cages or captured with cruel methods in their natural environments. Miomojo particularly supports the efforts ofessereanimali in favor of the closure of mink farms in Italy.
  • PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), one of the largest and most important international non-profit associations in support of animals. PETA focuses its efforts in four macro areas, in which animals suffer the most: the food industry, the clothing sector, laboratories that test on animals and the entertainment industry. All Miomojo products are “vegan approved” by PETA, and Miomojo is a proud “PETA Business Friend,” supporting this organization's great efforts to end animal abuse and suffering.
  • Miomojo believes in the positive impact that every single individual can have in changing the world. This is why, in addition to international associations, they also support initiatives around the world, smaller but with a strong local impact: Rancho Relaxo in New Jersey, USA - Change for Animals foundation active in Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam - Mercy For Animals, international association for animal rights.

  • REDUCING PLASTIC WASTE

Recycled PET is obtained from post-consumer plastic bottles, thus helping to reduce the amount of plastic waste destined for landfills or environmental pollution. The use of recycled PET helps to close the plastic material loop, promoting the reuse of existing resources and the reduction of environmental impact.

  • LOWER CO2 EMISSIONS

The production of recycled PET generally generates less CO2 emissions than the production of virgin PET. The use of recycled PET contributes to the fight against climate change, helping to reduce the environmental impact associated with the production of synthetic materials.

  • CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Buying products made with recycled PET supports the idea of a circular economy, where materials are reused and recycled to minimize waste and pollution. Choosing recycled PET is a conscious choice to contribute to a more sustainable future and a more responsible fashion industry.
