The Vegan Society certification is the oldest and most prestigious Vegan certification. In fact, it was the English association of the same name founded by Donald Watson in 1944 that issues the certificate that coined the term Vegan. Currently, the certification can also be issued by an Italian body, Certification Europe Italia srl.
This mark allows consumers to recognize that a product has been created and developed:
-without the use of ingredients that have involved or involve the use of products, by-products or derivatives of animals;
-without ingredients that have directly or indirectly involved animal testing.
The checks for the release of the certification concern all the phases of the production process but a check is also carried out in the production plants to verify that the knowledge of the vegan choice is widespread.
