Cosmetics defined as natural by ICEA are those that, despite not containing organic ingredients, boast the most varied characteristics of naturalness.
The main objective of this specification and certification scheme is to:
-establish clear and verifiable correlation requirements between natural raw materials and cosmetic products;
-ensure products and production processes that respect human health and the environment;
-identify on the market a cosmetic product that meets the expectations of consumers who are attentive to the principles of environmental sustainability of production.
The physical and chemical processes allowed were selected taking into account the following valorising criteria:
-processes that allow the formation of biodegradable molecules;
-processes that respect the natural functional substances present in the ingredients;
-processes that promote good waste management and good energy use and take into account the ecological balance.
