Tussah silk is also called wild silk because it is obtained from the cocoons of wild silkworms. The silkworms don't just feed on mulberry trees but on various plants they find and this gives the silk a more natural and slightly more irregular appearance than traditional silk. Compared to this, wild silk also has greater hygroscopicity, meaning it can absorb an even greater quantity of humidity and then release it quickly.

Tussah silk is very durable and has excellent resilience following pulling and prolonged use.
