FEATURES OF THE BIOEARTH LOOM LINE:
How to use snail slime in cosmetics?
Snail slime is very rich in Mucopolysaccharides, which give it its characteristic viscosity and film-forming, protective and hydrating properties. Qualitative chemical analysis of snail slime has highlighted a rather complex composition of active substances, with particular presence of allantoin, elastin, collagen, glycolic acid, lactic acid, antiprotease, vitamins and minerals. Thanks to its composition, it is now used in anti-aging, restorative and film-forming products , as well as in the treatment of small scars , acne and expression lines .
The cosmetic and soothing properties of snail secretion were already known to the Romans and ancient Greeks, in fact the animal was also the symbol of the pharmacies of the time. Snail secretion is essential for the life of the animal. It helps the healing of tissues, has natural antiseptic properties and serves to protect the animal from small animals, bacteria and viruses that could attack it. In the 80s of the last century, snail secretion began to be studied in the medical and cosmetic fields and, subsequently, to be used in skin care preparations.
Loom: technical-qualitative information:
- General description : Loom Snail Slime is obtained from “Helix aspersa” (snail) for pharmaceutical and cosmetic use. The secretion is collected and filtered in two stages, the first of roughing and the second of polishing. No dilutions or chemical interventions are carried out, apart from the addition of stabilizers.
- Main Ingredient : Snail Slime Extract (Helix Aspersa Muller) Loom (Snail Secretion Filtrate), liquid, microfiltered, very pure.
- 100% Italian origin: Loom Snail Slime is a production entirely made in Italy, by a company certified and controlled by the USL Company and under the control of the responsible veterinarian. The snails are raised exclusively on open ground and according to an "Italian" method that differs significantly from the approach adopted in other European countries such as France, Spain or South America, where the snail is kept and raised in artificial conditions (in greenhouses, in containers or indoors). The little animals are fed with sown vegetables to which are added apples, pumpkins and cabbages all produced on site, without using any type of chemical fertilizer, insecticides or other poisons. Loom Snail Slime is extracted with the manual stimulation method, perfectly safe and respectful of the well-being of the snails. The snails are washed, cleaned and then gently stimulated with the hands. The movement causes the little animals to produce slime. Once the slime has been obtained, the snails, after being washed and cleaned again, are taken back to the farm where they continue their normal life. The slime obtained is then filtered and microfiltered to eliminate any type of impurity. The method is very tiring and expensive, but it allows to obtain a high quality slime and to save stress or cruel procedures.
Bioearth, bionatural cosmetics for twenty years
Bioearth is an Italian company pioneering natural and organic cosmetics that embarked on this path when the problem of chemicals on the skin was still felt by few. The idea of creating cosmetics made only with plant and organic active ingredients comes from a sincere and deep love for nature and obviously ourselves. Bioearth cosmetics are not only bionatural but are also effectively effective and with clearly visible results .
Bioearth cosmetics do not contain :
• Synthetic surfactants (MEA/TEA/DEA (amine and amino derivatives), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Amonium Lauryl Sulfate, TEA-lauryl sulfate, Magnesium Laureth sulfate, MEA Laureth sulfate, Sodium laureth sulfate and Amonium laureth sulfate) as they could be too aggressive for the skin and therefore alter its protective function, facilitating the appearance of dermatitis.
