How to use : the Bentonite clay contained in the TEA mineral softener, swelling upon contact with water, has a softening action on hand and machine laundry. It is important to use the product throughout the wash cycle. The powder must therefore be inserted directly into the basket, or into the detergent drawer if powder is used. Do not put the product in the fabric softener compartment. Shake the product before use to homogenize the mineral mixture.
Ingredients: Sodium Sulphate (Inert inorganic salt), Bentonite (Mineral resulting from the decomposition of volcanic ash), Sodium Citrate (Sequestering water hardness), Lavandula Hybrida Oil (Lavender essential oil), Linalool (Natural component of lavender essential oil)
TEA has always avoided offering fabric softener among its cleaning products...
But what is a fabric softener? Surfactant from the "Ammonium Quaternary" family, it cannot be mixed with other surfactants as it would lower its washing power; for this reason fabric softeners are purchased separately and used in a special tray in the washing machine.
And how do fabric softeners work? Since they are introduced into the washing machine after the washing phase, they are deposited on the fibers of the fabrics. Being loaded with negative ions (-), they will "repel" the fibers together, giving a sensation of volume to the clothes.
But do we want to live wrapped in foreign substances that impregnate what we wear just for that brief sensation of softness? Are we convinced that releasing a greater quantity of micronized products into the environment is healthy for the environment in which we live?
We at Tea have never been convinced of this, so much so that to date a liquid softener based on ammonium quaternaries of both petrochemical and vegetal origin (esterquat) has never appeared in the Detergent Price List. In our formulations we have always paid particular attention to enriching the detergents with substances that could also make them sufficiently "softening" when washing clothes.
And we arrive at the new product: mineral fabric softener. Like other products, TEA was born from a collaboration with a person we met during our journey who appeared to solve a problem, to provide an opportunity that resolved a contradiction.... The person, a young university student who based her degree thesis on “Softening Power of Minerals.” Naturally, the thesis risked remaining ignored... Who is interested in subverting production chains, industrial methods and above all the population's consumption habits? To a few... But to us at Tea, yes.....
In the new TEA fabric softener, the fundamental element is Bentonite. But how does this mineral work? Its use has a lubricating and "relaxing" effect on the fibres, avoids the deposit of heavier minerals on the fabrics which cause stiffening of the fabrics (limestone, zeolites etc.), eliminating them during rinsing both from the fabrics and from the washing machine, giving evident softness to the touch. Furthermore, Bentonite is completely compatible with the environment, therefore having zero impact.
From today, in addition to having cloths that are softer to the touch, they will be enriched with a good lavender scent that we have mixed in our mineral softener.
in short... goal achieved!
