KOMODO

Information

KOMODO - THE ORIGINAL ETHICAL FASHION BRAND SINCE 1988
With the belief that the simple actions we take today can have a huge and positive impact on the future, Komodo is dedicated to creating clothes that are sustainable and do not have a negative impact on the environment. That is why Komodo has been committed to creating eco-friendly and ethical fashion since 1988.
Komodo uses high-quality organic, natural and eco-friendly fibres and innovative fabrics such as green PU coating, recycled PET, cupro and sustainable Lenzing viscose. Most of the products are vegan and all are cruelty-free. Komodo is GOTS certified and a member of the soil association.
Corporate social responsibility is equally important at Komodo. The brand works closely with factories to ensure a safe working environment and fair wages. Komodo maintains long-standing relationships with partners in Kathmandu and Java supporting local communities and important social projects. All suppliers work with the same philosophy of reducing the environmental impact of their operations and processes. The main Nepalese knitwear factory I work with has gone solar!
Most of the factories they use hold certifications such as SA8000 and GOTS or are independently audited by bodies such as UL.
Komodo produces their garments in factories in Kathmandu, Bali and India. After the earthquake in Nepal in 2015 they had to move part of their production to China, and they carefully chose a small, women-run company.
