Farro is the oldest wheat cultivated by man since the Neolithic, just think that the term flour derives precisely from farro. It was once a very widespread cereal but considering that its cultivation is not very productive it has been replaced by increasingly productive grains.
The organic spelt husk that you find in our products is obtained by husking spelt grains and therefore has the shape of an elongated capsule. The material obtained is therefore granular and malleable and represents a natural alternative to classic padding. Spelt husk is very breathable thanks to the fact that between one casing and another empty spaces are created where air can easily pass.
Organic spelt husk is naturally rich in silicon, which can be absorbed by our body even through the skin. For this reason, it is also used for therapeutic purposes in case of bone and joint pain. In addition, the supply of silicic acid is also useful for the lungs, the immune system, blood vessels and the skin.
To keep the Farro husk healthy, it is good to expose the cushions to air, to the sun and to shake them often; in fact, the husk is able to absorb excess humidity, including sweat, and therefore it is good to eliminate it. The husk is a living material and can give us a pleasant sensation of well-being and at the end of the cycle it is completely biodegradable.
