In Africa the Shea plant is called "The Tree of Health".
This Shea Butter, being pure and unrefined, has a more intense natural odor than that of other brands, the color tends towards light yellow and appears more grainy (only on the surface), but this does not affect its quality: in fact, depending on the vintage, weather conditions and plants from which it is harvested, the smell and color tone may vary.

Curiosities about Shea butter: Mali, Ivory Coast, Kenya. It is from these countries that the Shea butter used by TEA and offered to you comes from. It is obtained by processing the fruit of the Mangifolia tree, a shrub that can reach 15 meters in height and which vaguely resembles the oak. Mostly African women are the ones who manually extract and process this substance through a long process: it takes around 20 hours to obtain 1 kilogram of butter. The fruits are collected and the pulp is removed until the small nut is obtained which is dried or roasted. The walnut is reduced to pulp, kneaded and worked by hand with water, until the fatty part coagulates and is separated from the water. At this point the butter is melted to separate it from the shell residues; then the pure butter is solidified.
Also very rich in vitamins A, B, E and F, thanks to its numerous beneficial properties it is used by locals as a balm for massages against rheumatism, aches, burns, sunburn, ulcerations and skin irritations. In tropical areas it is used as a protector against the sun's rays.
What makes Shea Butter a unique product in the world is the very high content of unsaponifiables, fundamental substances for maintaining the natural elasticity of the skin. Precisely for this reason it is called "The Tree of Youth" :
Although it appears in a solid form, upon first contact with the body it transforms into an oily, spreadable substance.
