100% sustainable and high quality stearin and rapeseed oil candle . This candle provides perfect light for a relaxing, peaceful evening. The candles are made from animal-derived stearin* and rapeseed wax, all of European origin. All waxes are sourced from natural, renewable raw materials and are free of palm oil and genetically modified soy.

This candle is characterized by its long life, a stable, soot-free flame and limited CO2 emission. They are also produced with SafeCandle technology.

A candle of this type emits over 60% less Co2 than a paraffin or soy wax candle, and about 20% less than a palm oil wax candle.

The PURE Candles line is produced by the historic WENZEL company founded in 1899, an innovative and cutting-edge company. All of their products are 100% manufactured at their premises in Aschaffenburg.

With this line the company combines the active protection of resources with the intimacy of the home environment . All products in this series are made with natural and renewable raw materials of European origin (excluding coconut wax) and are free of plastic packaging, palm oil and soy wax, which have a negative impact on the environment. In this way they conscientiously support the protection of the tropical forest and completely renounce the use of palm oil and products derived from palm oil.

These candles impress with their long flame duration and stable, soot-free and CO2-neutral combustion . By giving up the use of hydrocarbons in the material, we obtain a CO2 saving of over 60% compared to similar items produced with paraffin! All of their candles are also made using their SafeCandle technology.

OLIVE

Olive wax comes from Italy. Thanks to the short transportation and full use of the olive, this wax is one of the most sustainable in our industry.

Olive trees live for decades and the older they become, the more productive they are. The olives, not used in the food sector, are used industrially. The wax for candles is obtained by a special process of the pulp, as a residue after pressing the oil. To be able to work the olive wax better, rapeseed wax is added at 9% of the mass. The candles are produced manually and 100% vegan and stand out for their crystalline surface, long life and stability of the flame.

COCONUT

Coconut oil has now become indispensable for domestic use. Thanks to its effectiveness, it is widely used in the cosmetics industry, in personal care products and in the preparation of various dishes, as well as being a valid alternative to wax in the production of candles.

A coconut plant can reach 80 years of age and bear fruit all year round, obtaining a harvest of approx. 20 kg of pulp from dried nuts, called copra, which in turn is transformed into chips or oil. Coconut can be used comprehensively: the fibers as filler, the shell as activated carbon and the remains of the copra as animal feed.

Coconut wax has an intense white color and is 100% vegan. Thanks to the smooth texture of the surface, it burns slowly and excellently, with a very stable flame as well as having perfect adherence to the edge of glasses.

STEARIN

Stearin candles represent a valid alternative to normal paraffin candles. Stearin is obtained from fats of animal or vegetable origin. They are considered high quality candles, also due to their significantly greater weight. The melting point of stearin is significantly higher than that of paraffin candles which can soften and deform even at 40 degrees. Only with the use of stearin of animal origin is it possible to fall within the parameters of the strict rules of the ecological, Nordic, SWAN certificate, fully complying with them. However, stearin coming from palm oil or soy does not meet the strict sustainability rules required.

The candles are two-thirds made from stearin and the remaining third uses rapeseed wax of European origin, which is grown in Sweden. Stearin greases have the lowest CO2 emission of all types of wax. Thus a candle of this type emits over 60% less Co2 than a paraffin or soy wax candle, and about 20% less than a palm oil wax candle. The stearin used for these candles is made from animal fats and is therefore absolutely sustainable. It is obtained from animal waste, ensuring that all parts of an animal can be used without generating waste.

WENZEL withdraws paraffin from Europe and deliberately does not use any stearin from soya or palm oil which damage tropical forests or are grown in monoculture.
