OEKO-TEX® textile certification

Information

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® was created to standardize international differences in the evaluation of harmful substances used in the textile industry in order to identify and eliminate them at every stage of the production chain. This certification guarantees the human-ecological safety of textile products and their harmlessness to human health, acting as an effective tool for the consumer in his purchasing choices as it is synonymous with high product safety.

The list of requirements for obtaining STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification includes several hundred regulated substances and covers:

-Important legal regulations such as azo dyes, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, nickel cadmium, etc.
-Numerous chemical substances that are dangerous to health, even if not yet regulated by law.
-The requirements of Annexes XVII and XIV of the European Chemicals Regulation REACh and the ECHA Candidate List of SVHC substances, if these are relevant for textile and clothing products or accessories according to the assessment of the OEKO-TEX® expert group. Following discussions and developments considered relevant, the requirements of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® are updated as quickly and effectively as possible.
-US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requirements for lead.
-Numerous classes of substances also relevant for the environment
