Organic wool clothing

Information

Organic wool means wool from certified organic farms. In these farms, sheep are fed organic food and treated with natural products (homeopathic and phytotherapeutic); in one hectare of land, a maximum of 13 animals can be raised, even the stables must guarantee adequate space and access to outdoor spaces (there are therefore specific European Union regulations established in the ministerial decree of 2000). Organic wool therefore certifies the type of farm in which it was produced.

Natural wool, whether organic or not, is wool that has not been treated with chemicals during the processing and production phases up to the finished product. The natural wool thus obtained is rich in protein and has a composition similar to that of human skin. Natural wool has unique characteristics: it maintains constant heat, is very breathable and regulates moisture (it is able to absorb liquids up to a third of its weight and release them towards the outside).

Among the various types of wool, it is worth mentioning the organic merino wool widely used by our producers, this wool has particularly fine fibres from which a very soft to the touch, thermo-regulating and very breathable fabric is obtained.
